| The Law of Attraction The Law of Attraction is very visible in the news these days with the release of the CD The Secret. This month I would like to talk about The Law of Attraction, one of the natural laws of the Universe that states -- More gathers more; Like attracts like; What you think about you bring about; and What you are seeking is seeking you. This is one of the most powerful laws of the Universe. I was so excited when I listened to The Secret CD to find out that they believe and endorse many, if not most of the positive principles that I have teaching for many years. I wrote my first book on the power of Affirmations in 1989. I, too truly believe in the Law of Attraction and always taught my children to be careful what they were thinking because they were bringing more of the same to them. The Law of the Attraction like every other natural law of the Universe is no respecter of person and works for everyone alike. This law is always turned on; in fact you cannot turn it off! Just to think -- that with every thought you think and every word you speak that you are creating your life, one new thought at a time. Thoughts become things. The Law of Attraction is one of the most powerful laws of the Universe. It is always at work bringing to us what we think and talk about. One woman says, “Oh, I always get the flu every spring.” Check in with her in the spring and guess what you will discover -- she is flat on her back with a case of the flu. She self-prophesied it and brought it to her by the powerful Law of Attraction. I would like to see The Secret Movie talk about The Step Process as some people find it very hard to go from being desperately broke to being abundantly wealthy or from ill health to achieving 100% health. A baby crawls, before it walks, walks before it runs. For instance the little boy in The Secret cuts out a picture of a bike and creates a picture in his mind, and it manifests. I fully agree with this and I would take it a step father by sharing with him The Step Process. I would first ask the boy if his parents wanted him to have a bike. (In some busy areas it may not be safe.) When teaching the power of Affirmations to a class in Washington State, I was asked by a 3rd grader if I thought he could put a picture of a bike in his notebook and the next day he would get it I answered him as follows. I first asked him if his parents were agreeable to him having a bike. Then I said,”Do your Affirmation -- I, Tommy deserve and now have a new bike.” I suggested that he place a picture of the bike on the top of the page. I also suggested that he blow breath into his Affirmation by taking action. (We can stand in an elevator all day and affirm that it rises to the 3rd floor, but until you, I or someone else pushes the button, it is will not go to the 3rd floor. Some one had to take action here). (a) Tell his parents, family and friends that he wants a new bike. (b) He could start saving towards it. (c) Take odd jobs, do his chores (save his allowance), cut lawns, help people clean up their yards, take garbage out, wash cars, etc. Also I encouraged him to keep on believing and focusing on what hemost desired that is the bike and not on the fact that he did not have a bike at this time. On one of my radio shows over WARL 1320 A.M. Providence, Rhode Island, I had the privilege of having a very interesting man as my guest. His name is Terry McBride and I met him personally in Phoenix AZ last July at an International New Thought Alliance Congress where he was the main speaker and the picture of health. He said, “You know Dr. Evers it is very difficult, if not absolutely impossible to lay in the hospital in extreme pain with a tube sticking out of your nose and one out of your belly and say, I am 100%healthy.” My mind could not believe this statement. He continued, “So I devised the 1% solution. I say, Today I am 1% better than I was yesterday; and every day I say the same thing and in 90 days I was 90% better and in 100 days I was 100% healthy.” My mind also goes back to the man who told me over the phone that he absolutely loathed himself. He told me that he could not go from loathing himself to loving himself. The gap was just too wide and too big. I counseled him to do the following Step Process - Step 1 - Loathe
- Step 2 - Tolerate
- Step 3 - Accept
- Step 4 - Like
- Step 5 - LOVE
He says it is working like a charm and he is now on Step 4, and he is actually really beginning to like himself. This way it was not as overwhelming for him as he took one step at a time and he is surely and steadily reaching his goal -- one step at a time. What step process will you use to realize your goals? Next Month we will talk more about Thoughts, Using your Powerful Mind to make your dreams come true and other interesting subjects. I love to hear your Affirmation Success Stories.
